Actor throws jet lag out of the window, meets his Bajirao Mastani director to discuss his next

Jaded and jet-lagged are two words that probably don’t exist in Ranveer Singh’s dictionary. Barely a couple of days after arriving in India upon completing the shoot of Befikre in Paris, Ranveer Singh was spotted at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office on Saturday night.
Buzz goes that the actor had gone to discuss about his role in the director’s next, a period film based on the legend of Rani Padmavati. Though nothing has been finalised yet, buzz has it that Singh is likely to give his nod to playing the anti-hero Alauddin Khilji in the film. And, if he agrees, Singh will be sporting the beard again.
Singh’s girlfriend Deepika Padukone is said to have given her nod to playing the titular role. However, Bhansali is yet to decide on who’ll play the hero King Ratan Sen. There were rumours earlier that SLB was keen to have Shah Rukh Khan play this role, but while the director did meet Khan, it was said to be for another project. Singh has previously worked with SLB in Ram Leela (2013) and last year's Filmfare award winning period drama Bajirao Mastani.
Meanwhile, gen-next actor Vicky Kaushal, who was last seen in Raman Raghav 2.0, was among those who had auditioned for a role in Padmavati. Rumour has it that it was perhaps for the role of Ratan Sen. However, the word emanating from the rumour mills is that Kaushal may now have snubbed the role for it was too short in length compared to the leading characters.
