Vidya Balan started shooting for director Srijit Mukherjee’s Begum Jaan recently, along with an ensemble cast. The actress was in some discomfort owing to the fickle weather on location but that did not deter her from continuing with the shoot. This information was shared by Mukherjee himself.
Begum Jaan is currently being shot in Jharkhand, where the inclement weather has affected most of the cast. There are days when the weather is very hot but the temperature drops suddenly when it starts raining. Besides, the film's story involves the use of guns and the smell of gunpowder also made Vidya uneasy.
An ambulance was available on location. But Vidya regained composure and resumed shooting quickly. In fact, according to a source, the crew was ready to take a break but the Kahaani actress did not want to delay the shooting any further.
Pleased with Vidya’s professionalism, Mukherjee said, “It is such a pleasure to work with Vidya. She is a thorough professional. Though one could see she was uncomfortable and the production called the doctor, she was back to shooting in 5 minutes.”
Begum Jaan is the official remake of the successful Bengali film, Rajkahini, which was also helmed by Mukherjee. The film is produced by Mukesh Bhatt’s Vishesh Films and Play Entertainment.
