He’s invincible, untouchable, a super star like none. Salman Khan is the most valuable brand in entertainment business, and everybody wants a piece of him.
Ajay Devgn, who is good friends with Khan, has reportedly asked the superstar to do a special appearance in his Diwali release Shivaay. Devgn, who is producing, directing and acting in Shivaay, wants Khan to do a special song for Shivaay. Buzz has it that Khan has agreed in principle to do the particular song.
It must be recalled that Khan is not averse to doing cameos for his friends. Back in 2012, Khan had done the Po Po Po song in Devgn’s Son of Sardaar. What made that song special wasn’t just Khan’s presence, but back then Devgn was fighting with Salman’s nemesis Shah Rukh Khan and Yash Raj Films, accusing them of unfair practices by hogging more screens. Khan had even tweeted saying 'Sardaar ke dost se panga mat lena yaar'. Even though both films crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box-office, the Diwali competition clearly hurt their prospects.
Ironically, four years later, Devgn finds himself in another competition, this time with gen next star Ranbir Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar. Devgn’s Shivaay is slated to compete with the Johar directed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on 28 October, 2016.
Khan has never been too fond of Ranbir, especially after the young actor started dating his ex-girl friend Katrina Kaif. Now that Kaif has broken up with Ranbir, why wouldn’t Khan want to spoil Ranbir’s Diwali. The Barfi! actor has been struggling with his last four films bombing.
Interestingly, Kapoor himself had done a special song, ‘Tai Tai Phish’ in Salman Khan produced children’s film Chillar Party (2011). All that is now history.
