Having shattered several records since its release, Salman Khan's Sultan has added another feather to his cap by setting a record first week collection of Rs208 crore net in its first week, as reported by Boxoffcieindia.com. Thus, it is the fastest to cross Rs200 crore.
The film, which released on 6 July, and bagged over Rs30 crore on its frst day, expectedly saw its collection drop to Rs15.5 and Rs13 crore on its first Monday and Tuesday, respectively. What makes the first Monday and Tuesday collection special though is that desptie the drop in tickets prices, these figures stand really impressive. The top collections for first Monday belong to Krrish 3 Rs29.64 crore, but that was on a holiday.
Sultan's week long collection of Rs208 crore net betters the record set by Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), which had recorded Rs28 crore less in its first week.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh projected the film to touch Rs235 crore in about nine days.
