Over the past few months, Parineeti Chopra has stunned everyone with her remarkable makeover. After doing a photo shoot revealing her new slim body, the actress has now made a splash in the song ‘Jaaneman Aah’ from Dishoom.
During the launch of the song recently, the young and bubbly actress shared her successful fitness story but also stressed that fitness is not about being slim.
She said, “Pregnant women or those dealing with post-pregnancy weight, teenagers dealing with obesity, all around the world people ask me to tell my [weight loss] story. I tell them, I am literally a fat-to-fit story. I have really struggled with my weight all my life. All these guys call themselves chubby. But I was not chubby; I was really really big, obese and unhealthy.”
Chopra considers the pressure of working in Hindi cinema to be a boon in disguise. “I really took it upon myself and I am so glad that some kind of pressure from Bollywood was there to bring myself on to the right path. The amount of stamina and energy I have; I sleep and eat so well. The fact that I could do this song for two days with hardly any food is because I was really fit.”
However, Chopra also said being fit does not necessarily mean being slim. “It’s so important for people to understand that they just need to be their fittest self. It doesn’t matter what size they are. I was big, but I was unfit. I didn’t care about my body shape as much as what it was making me feel. So, people need to achieve their fittest self at whatever size they are. See these hip-hop dancers in New York. They are so big but so flexible and agile. People just need to look at my pictures and put them on the wall and be like, ‘If she can do it, we can do it."
