After rocking it up with Sonu Nigam, Hrithik Roshan, and SRK, the Six Pack Band are now rocking it for everyone's 'bhaijaan', Salman Khan. India's first transgender band have come together with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to prepare their own tribute to Sultan's rocking ballad 'Raula Pe Gaya'.
The song features the band taking centrestage in an MMA ring, a nod to the major plot point in the film. The Punjabi folk song 'Raula Pe Gaya' has been transformed into an inspired number, with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's sufi trained voice providing the adequate lift. The band itself is quite outstanding in the elaborate costume, and bring grit, glamour, and courage to the number. If you thought the Sultan soundtrack gave you goosebumps, listen to this.
Watch.
Against the context of the story of the band members, the song acquires a new meaning and power. The video also has a voiceover of Anushka Sharma speaking about the cause and their attempts to further gender equality in the country.
The band, brought together by Y-films, consists of transgender singers. The band has previously done covers on Pharell Williams' hit single, 'Happy', which clocked more than 1.4 million views on YouTube. They also broke the internet with this rocking number with Hrithik Roshan.
The movement has created quite a sensation and is seeking to help members of the transgender community, and anyone who has been discriminated against. More power to them!
