Who said Priyanka Chopra isn't keen on doing desi films any more? The star is firing on all cylinders to make her maiden Marathi production, Ventilator a grand hit.
Chopra's Purple Pebble Production, which had started with a Bhojpuri and then a Punjabi film, is now producing the Marathi film Ventilator. Not only is Priyanka producing the film, but also acting in it.
The actress shot a scene and a special song for the film before flying off to the United States, where she begins shooting for Quantico season 2.
Priyanka is determined about acing even her special appearance. "If I wasn't producing films or doing different things like my web-series, I would still have been successful because I am a winner by nature and a survivor. People pursue happiness, success, money or fame, for me it's the pursuit of excellence. I want to be excellent at my role in my Marathi film too, even if it is a guest appearance. If you're consistent, you will never be denied success, no matter the age or stage," she told Mumbai Mirror.
Regional films are popular with PeeCee, who has vowed to make three more regional films, each in a different language.
"Life is transient and I am a creative person who constantly looks for new outlets. I have been writing a lot and I am producing films, I like to evolve in different directions," she added.
Ventilator is helmed by Ferrari Ki Sawaari (2012) director Rajesh Mapuskar. Chopra is no strange to Maharastrian culture having played popular Marathi characters such as Sweety Bhope in Kaminey (2009) and Kashi Bai, in the last year’s award winning period drama Bajirao Mastani.
