Rajinikanth's Kabali gets the green light

The superstar's latest has been cleared with a 'U' certificate without any cuts.

Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer Kabali has been cleared with a 'U' certificate without any cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The film is scheduled to be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on 22 July.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kabali, which is said to be based on a true story, features Rajinikanth in the role of a Malaysian don. The film co-stars Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dinesh, Kalaiarasan, Dhansikaa and Taiwanese actor Winston Chao.

The film has been predominantly shot in Malaysia. A week after its release in India, a version of the film dubbed in Malay will be released in southeast Asia.
