Bejoy Nambiar's film Wazir, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar, is days away from release, but the director has reportedly landed in a spot of trouble. Apparently, Javed Abidi, convenor of the Disabled Rights Group (DRG), feels that Nambiar's recent comment on Bachchan being limited in the film due to his character being wheelchair bound was disparaging and extremely condescending towards people with disabilities. He has allegedly demanded an apology for the same.
Nambiar, on his part, has apologized for the remark clarifying that no malice was ever intended.
