Unfortunately, fate wasn't kind to her. Aankhen would be the only hit of her career. She had the looks, but was found wanting in the acting department. The clichéd cinema of the 90s didn't help her cause either. She attracted eyeballs for her skin show in Rock Dancer (1995), but it was more like a fashion disaster than a statement. She had another nondescript role in the Jackie Shroff-starrer Aar Ya Paar. Her 'Dil Diya Pyaar Diya' item number was a hit, but the film wasn't.
She then had a cameo in the 2000 hit comedy Hadh Kar Di Aapne, followed by another minor role in Lajja. Reduced to a bit player, she switched to Kannada cinema before trying her luck at television. Interestingly, her mother, Sudha Shivpuri, became a household name as Baa in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, but her daughter couldn't replicate her success.
In 2015, pictures of sexy but mature-looking Shivpuri surfaced, with reports suggesting a return in a film that would star Juhi Chawla and Shabana Azmi. Chalk and Duster released in 2016, but Shivpuri's name didn't feature in the cast.
She was engaged to fellow actor Kamal Sadanah and later to singer Mika Singh. Both relationships went sour. She eventually married someone unconnected to the film industry.
