Throwback Thursday: This old acting school video proves why Ranveer Singh is truly 'Befikre'

Shot during his time as an acting student, the short skit has enough of Singh's natural flirty, mischievous stardust to convince you why Aditya Chopra chose him over Shah Rukh Khan to play the lead in Befikre.

A recent post by director Aditya Chopra said 'Dharam is Ranveer Singh, and Ranveer Singh is Dharam' referring to the actor's carefree attitude towards life. While few would question Chopra's conviction, this old video from Singh's acting school days gives ample proof on why the director was so convinced to cast Singh in the role of a flirty, naughty, but friendly Dharam in his film.

Ranveer Singh has the same brilliance, intellect, energy as Shah Rukh Khan: Aditya Chopra

Shot during Singh's time as a student at the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, it has Singh and another actor playing out an episode at a hotel. As always, Singh is in his element. It is easy to see why fans adore the Bajirao Mastani star so much. The flirty, natural ease with which Singh plays the role is an example of his innate stardom. Add to that the 70s Bachchan hairstyle, and you have a superstar in the making.

If that doesn't prove why Singh is the 'Befikre' guy by default, nothing else will.

Befikre is directed by Chopra, and stars Singh and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. The film will arrive in theatres on 9 December 2016.
