Shah Rukh Khan's Raees will release on 25 January with Hrithik's Kaabil 

Just a few days back producer Rakesh Roshan announced that his Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer, Kaabil, will release one day before, on Wednesday, 25 January, instead of the previously announced Republic Day date of 26 January.

The idea was to cash in on the long weekend. "There have been instances in the past when movies were released mid-week, especially if there is a big national holiday following it. My director Sanjay Gupta and I are in agreement on this. After hearing what our distributors have to say, we thought it makes perfect sense go with a 25 January release," Rakesh had said.

Now, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, producers of Shah Rukh Khan's Raees, have also decided 25 January as the release date. Obviously, the makers do not want to allow Kaabil to get a headstart. Both the films will now release on a Wednesday, giving them a long opening weekend at the box-office. So the clash is still on and its pretty much even stevens once again. May the better film win.
