Veteran actor and Hindi cinema legend, Dilip Kumar, was hospitalised on Tuesday, and is being treated for fever and a severe pain in the leg. The actor, who will turn 94 in a week, was taken to the hospital by his wife, Saira Banu after he complained of ill health and discomfort.
Speaking to a daily, Banu said, "I was anyway planning to take him for a routine check-up, but the swelling alarmed me. He was also complaining of cold and cough. I don’t ignore anything even remotely suspicious when it comes to Dilip saab’s health."
The Dadasaheb Phalke award winner has been placed under observation. The actor has been suffering from ill health and age-related complications for a while. In 2013, the actor suffered a heart attack, leading to widespread rumours about his premature demise. In 2014, Kumar was hospitalised twice, in April and December, on account of pneumonia.
Considered as one of the greatest actors ever to grace Indian cinema, his health is definitely a matter of concern for his fans and loved ones. We hope the actor returns to his best before his birthday on 11 December.
