5 things to expect from Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees trailer

Here is something to double your excitement for the long-awaited Shah Rukh Khan-starrer.

The first teaser of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Raees created a big roar when it was out last year. This, obviously, made SRK’s fans wait with bated breath for the film, which was supposed to clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan this year. However, the release was pushed back by producers Excel Entertainment to avoid a clash.

Raees is now gearing up for a release next year on Republic Day (26 January). It will now lock horns with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil. The first trailer of the film is due to release tomorrow and Khan's fans are unable to contain their excitement. This can be seen from the continuous trending hashtags on social media over the last few days.

Here's why the upcoming poster of Raees is so personal to Shah Rukh Khan

So, the basic question on everyone’s minds is what to expect from the keenly-awaited trailer of Raees. Based on some inside information and guesswork, this is what we feel you are most likely to see in the promo:

‘Baniye ka dimaag, miyan bhai ki daring’
One of the most memorable things about the first teaser of Raees was its tagline mouthed by Shah Rukh in his killer style — 'Baniye ka dimaag, miyan bhai ki daring.’ So, it won’t be wrong to expect more of such lines from the Baadshah. You can start making guesses.

Not all about SRK
It won’t be fair to assume that the trailer will be all about Shah Rukh. One mustn’t forget that the film also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in an important character of a police officer. As Shah Rukh plays a gangster, it will be exciting to see two powerful performers pitted against each other.

Not a pot-boiler
Okay, the film has Shah Rukh, who is known to be one of the three biggest commercial superstars of Hindi cinema. So, naturally, one would expect Raees to be a commercial pot-boiler. However, our close source, who has seen some portions of the film, has informed that the film isn’t a regular commercial saga. Plus, Dholakia is not known for making out-and-out commercial flicks.

Mumbai touch
So far, we have been told that the film takes place in Gujarat. But a source close to the film had revealed to us that the story also takes place in Mumbai. The central character of Shah Rukh visits the city due to some reason. As the shoot of Raees hasn’t taken place in Mumbai, it seems the makers must have erected sets in studios.

No Mahira Khan?
Pakistani artists are facing opposition in the country following the Uri attacks in October this year. Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil became the biggest victim of the anti-Pak wave by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). This forced the makers of Dear Zindagi to not include Pakistani actor Ali Zafar in any of the promos. So, there are chances that Mahira Khan, Raees’ female lead, might also not make to the trailer. After all, MNS had also threatened Raees too for casting her.
