Aishwarya Rai Bachchan now joins the elite list of celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Rowan Atkinson, Shashi Kapoor and Katrina Kaif who have all been victims of 'hoax deaths' on the internet. Rumours began circling the internet on Sunday, and was soon picked up by the social media.

Reports suggested that the actress had succumbed to tranquilisers after 'constant family quarrels' over her photo shoots for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). The reports added that the news was being suppressed by the Bachchan family. Suffice to say, the hoax went viral on the internet, leading to quite the panic.

Thankfully for fans, the story proved to be a hoax. A report in Hindustan Times was quoted saying, "I was with Aishwarya and Abhishek till 2am today (Monday) morning at designer Manish’s home. She looked radiant and happy, posing for photographs. A lot of guests complimented her for how stunning she looked in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and her husband seemed rather pleased about it."

Incidentally, Amitabh had fallen victim to such a hoax in 2008. Shashi Kapoor, Rajinikanth, Ayushmann Khurrana, Lata Mangeshkar and Honey Singh are other personalities who have been prematurely declared dead by eager netizens in recent times.

Well, if Rajinikanth can be a victim to his 'hoax', what chance does Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have?
