Filmmaker Karan Johar’s decision to tie-up with SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali turned out to hit the bull's eye. The film caught the frenzy of the masses in no time and its sequel is excitedly awaited. Now, the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil filmmaker has tied up with another multi-lingual big-budgeted film, The Ghazi Attack.

Directed by Sankalp, the film will be made in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil. It tells the story of the mysterious disappearance of the Pakistani submarine, PNS Ghazi during the 1971 war between India and Pakistan and how a Navy officer and his team remained underwater for 18 days. In this way, The Ghazi Attack is India’s first underwater film.

The film stars Rana Daggubati, who plays the Navy officer. It also stars Taapsee Pannu. Both actors played a part in Akshay Kumar’s acclaimed Baby (2015). It seems Pannu is playing a guest appearance in the film. This can be made out from her tweet where she said, “Finally back on Telugu Screens with this special Appearance :).” Co-incidentally, even her role in Baby was a guest appearance.

Both actors along with Johar shared the first look of the poster yesterday since it was the Navy Day.

The Ghazi Attack also has an interesting line-up of supporting actors in the form of Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Akshay Mittal.

The film is all set to release on 17 February 2017.
