Yahoo released the list of most searched male and female stars and the top box office disasters of 2016. Leone beat Modi to take the top spot.

Sunny Leone is not only the most-searched female film celebrity, but also over all the most-searched personality, beating Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Yahoo's recently released list of 2016 in review for India, which reveals the people, events and stories that captured the attention of Indians in the last 12 months.
After Leone, the female celebrity list saw Bipasha Basu take spot 2, thanks to the buzz around her wedding to Karan Singh Grover. Deepika Padukone took the third slot followed by Katrina Kaif at no. 4, and Priyanka Chopra took the 5th position.
In the most searched male celebrity list, Salman Khan came out on top, followed by Kapil Sharma on no. 2, Amitabh Bachchan on no. 3, Shah Rukh Khan in 4th place and Aamir Khan in fifth position.
Kareena Kapoor Khan found herself the most stylish actress on Yahoo for flaunting her baby bump in photo shoots and on the ramp recently. Ranveer Singh, who is known for his eccentric fashion statements, was named the most stylish actor.
