Govinda had three releases in a year in 2014 after a long time: Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, Kill Dill and Happy Ending. He didn’t do a film after that. But he is all set to be back in 2017 with Aa Gaya Hero. If you are a Govinda fan, you would be smiling reading this. But that won’t be the case after you see the trailer which has been released.
The promo gives you a jolt. Not in a good way though if you have loved Govinda’s films of the 1990s. What else can you say when we see our dear Chi Chi do things Mithun Chakraborty used to do in his mind-boggling films of the late 1990s and early 2000s? It’s a fitting tribute to Mithun’s films like Cheetah and Sultaan (pun intended).
The Raja Babu actor is playing a character Salman Khan played in his comeback days through Wanted (2009) and Dabangg (2010). Govinda is not only late in playing such roles, but also unconvincing from all angles. What baffles us further is the presence of good artists like Ashutosh Rana, Makarand Deshpande and Murli Sharma.
As we are not qualified enough to analyse such a trailer, just have a look at the most endearing moments from it.
Lessons for Hollywood
When the VFX artist gave MSG a run for its money.
Things you do when you don’t have the budget for an ensemble cast.
Michael Jordan will get a stroke if he sees this.
Aa Gaya Hero is directed by Abhinay Chakra. For some reason, the trailer mentions it as ‘File of Abhinay Chakra.’ Maybe it has some deeper meaning which lesser mortals like us won’t get (look below).
