Deepika Padukone's xXx: The Return of Xander Cage preponed to avoid clash with Raees, Kaabil

India will see the first premiere of Deepika Padukone and Vin Diesel's action packed xXx: The Return of Xander Cage on 14 January 2017. The film was initially scheduled for a worldwide premiere on 26 January. The clash between Shah Rukh Khan's Raees and Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil might have mitigated the preponing of Padukone's Hollywood debut.

The news of the preponement arrived with Padukone tweeting the movie release dates in India on her Twitter handle. The actress posted a tweet saying, ''thrilled to announce that #XxX:TheReturnofXanderCage will release in India first!before anywhere else in the world! #14thJanuary #VinDiesel."

While the preponing allows the film to avoid the bigwigs, it still runs the risk of clashing with the Aditya Roy Kapur-Shraddha Kapoor romance, OK Jaanu. It will not be pleasant news for the makers of OK Jaanu.

For Padukone though, the signs are bright. The actress is making a big splash starring alongside names such as Diesel, Nina Dobrev, Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa. With Priyanka Chopra's trailer for Baywatch already making waves, this film might be the big break for Padukone overseas.

2017 is certainly turning out to be a year of the clashes.
