Biwi Ho To Aisi (1988)
A large number of people from Salman Khan’s huge fan following must not have even seen bits of his debut flick, Biwi Ho To Aisi. The film didn’t do that well. Plus, the actor played a side role which didn’t give him much exposure. Farooq Shaikh and Rekha played the main lead.
Ek Ladka Ek Ladki (1992)
This one made some noise when it was released about a quarter of a century ago but has been almost forgotten over the years. Directed by Vijay Sadanah, Ek Ladka Ek Ladki saw Khan cast opposite Neelam Kothari. The film revolved around her loss of memory and its hilarious consequences.
Jaagruti (1993)
Jaagruti had an interesting cast of Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Ashok Saraf, Prem Chopra, Pankaj Dheer, Raza Murad and AK Hangal. It also had an interesting concept of a defeated hero returning after regaining more powers. But the film didn’t work, and it remains fairly unknown to many.
Phir Milenge (2004)
Not many would remember that Khan was a part of an AIDS awareness film not so long ago. Also, very few would remember that he starred alongside Abhishek Bachchan in it. Directed by Revati, who is also a renowned actress, the film got critical acclaim but didn’t do well due to its limited reach.
Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa (2004)
This one is one of the biggest flops of Khan's career. It was a love story where the actor was cast opposite Preity Zinta and Bhoomika Chawla. It had an unintentionally hilarious storyline. Zinta's character dies in an accident. Her heart is donated to Chawla’s character. She starts loving Khan slowly after the surgery as she got Zinta's heart.
Saawan... The Love Season (2006)
If Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha was one of Khan’s biggest flops, Saawan... The Love Season is a masterpiece of a dud. So much so, that a lot of Khan's biggest fans won’t remember it despite the fact that it is just 10-years-old. The actor sported long hair and played a character who could foresee the future. Co-incidentally, it was directed by Saawan Kumar Tak.
Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar (2006)
This one was Khan's next release after Saawan... The Love Season and it met with the same fate. Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar explored the theme of a modern girl (Shilpa Shetty) forced to adopt to the regressive traditional values after marriage. It was south director KS Adiyaman’s second Hindi film. The first being Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam (2002), which also starred Khan.
Marigold (2007)
When a foreign director, William Caroll and a foreign actress, Ali Larter, collaborate with someone like Khan, you expect the film to be well-known. But, for some reason, it failed to grab eyeballs and eventually went unnoticed at the box-office. Caroll hasn’t directed any film after Marigold.
Heroes (2008)
This multi-starrer was one of Khan’s silver-lining during his lean period. The film was reasonably appreciated, although it couldn’t do much at the box-office. Samir Karnik’s Heroes is also the only film where Khan played a soldier and a sikh. This was yet another film where he was cast opposite Zinta.
Main Aur Mrs Khanna (2009)
Although Main Aur Mrs Khanna released just around seven years ago, it has fallen into the pit of unknown films. In fact, it was one of the Diwali releases that year. It was one of the last few Khan films before his tremendous comeback period commenced with Dabangg (2010) onwards.
