Kaabil trailer 2: Hrithik Roshan throws a serious challenge to Shah Rukh Khan's Raees

The box-office battle between Kaabil and Raees is well and truly on. The trailer 2 for Kaabil is intense, with Hrithik Roshan bringing in a new definition to the term 'vengeance'.

Featuring Roshan, the new trailer takes off from the first one which showed Roshan and Yami Gautam playing a happy-go-lucky blind couple whose marriage is wrecked by a couple of baddies. Except in this one, it is Roshan who in the front and centre as the intense, brooding, angry young man. The actor is pitch perfect as the man whose happiness is torn to shreds by evil men, played by brothers Ronit and Rohit Roy. 

Filled with some stylised action sequences and some hard hitting lines, the makers of Kaabil seem to have finally woken up to the competition. As the wronged hero utilising darkness to his advantage, Roshan taps into his experience as a superhero to deliver some engaging sequences. The sight of him fading into the background as Ronit searches desperately for his assailant is quite the sight. 

The clash between Gupta's film and Khan starrer Raees has been building up over the last few months. After Khan took round 1 with his oomph-inducing opening trailer, Gupta seems to have stepped up to the challenge. In fact, one standout line in the trailer is Roshan's voice calling out 'Aayega na. Darega to nahi?' to his villains. We can only speculate if this is an answer to the challenge Khan's character threw in Raaes 'Aa raha hu main.' 

Kaabil is directed by Gupta. The film is set to arrive in theatres on 25 Jan 2017.
