Vidyut Jammwal will be seen flaunting his well-built biceps in Commando 2, the sequel to the 2013 action thriller. The film, which was earlier slated to be released on 6 January, is now being pushed back by a couple of months and is likely to be released on 3 March 2017.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the following:
Popular television and film actor Deven Bhojani will make his directorial début with the action thriller. The film will also have two new heroines, as Esha Gupta and Adah Sharma will join the franchise.
We spoke to Bhojani, who neither confirmed nor denied the development.
“I’m not in a position to really comment on this. The producers, (Vipul Amrutlal Shah, Reliance Entertainment) had a meeting last evening where we mulled over the release date. It's going to be a collective call. You will have to wait for a couple of days to know the release date,” said Bhojani.
With Aamir Khan’s Dangal releasing on 23 December, the superstar’s film is expected to rule the box-office for a few weeks. Bhojani was non-commital on the reasons for Commando 2's likely shifting of release date. The first look of Commando 2 sees Jammwal all beefed up.
Interestingly, the film’s plot centres around the issue of recovering black money stashed abroad. Captain Karanvir Singh Dogra (Jammwal) is hired by the government to retrieve the black money.
