Over the past decade, she has largely made news for her troubled marriage, but having got a decree of divorce this year, Karisma Kapoor may well eye a return to films. And why not? Many of her contemporaries from the 1990s are facing the camera again.
Buzz has it that Kapoor (42), mother of two, will be seen on the big screen again in a cameo role in Judwaa 2, a remake of the 1997 comedy where she was one of the heroines.
The original Judwaa, directed by David Dhawan, starred Salman Khan in a double role. Dhawan will be directing his son Varun in the remake with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu as his leading ladies.
Kapoor had made one unsuccessful comeback to films with Vikram Bhatt’s Dangerous Ishhq (2012). The rumoured cameo has triggered talk of a return to cinema again. However, Kapoor isn’t looking too far ahead.
"I never plan anything in my life. [Right now] the focus is my family and kids and I like supporting [social] initiatives and I will continue to do it. I do keep myself busy, I work, attend events, work for brand endorsements. But a movie, I'm not too sure right now." Kapoor told the Press Trust of India.
Kapoor’s long legal battle to get a divorce ended earlier this year. The actress is currently rumoured to be dating buisnessman Sandeep Toshniwal.
