Shraddha Kapoor seems to be turning into quite the performer. After she sent pulses racing with her moves in The Humma song for Shaad Ali's OK Jaanu, the actress will be returning to her singing ways. Music composer duo Sachin-Jigar spoke to a news daily suggesting that they might ask the actress to sing in Apoorva Lakhia's biopic on underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's sister, Haseena.

Kapoor has signed on to play Haseena Parkar, the sister of notorious underworld don in Lakhia's biopic. Her brother, Siddhant Kapoor, is playing the role of Ibrahim in the film. The report quoted the duo as saying, "If there is something that crops up where we feel Shraddha can add value we will rope her in. We don't know yet if there is a requirement but of course given an opportunity, we will make sure that she sings and that too in a brand new avatar."

Kapoor has already proven to be a decent songstress lending her vocals in films like Aashiqui2(2013), and more recently in Rock On 2(2016). Haseena might be a little different than Kapoor's previous projects said the music composers. They added, "The film pans across a certain period and the brief was to cater to that era but not making it sound (out) dated. We are just retaining the vibe of the era but keeping the lyrics and the sound more new age. We are going to fuse a few elements which can transport listeners back to a forgotten era in a relevant atmosphere."

Haseena will see Shraddha Kapoor play the role of Dawood's sister from a young age till she turns 40, and reportedly took over the underworld empire in Mumbai. The film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is expected to release in the latter half of 2017.
