Not a great jump, but the YRF film has got decent numbers on Saturday and Saturday. The romantic drama collected an average of USD $2 million overseas.

After a good opening, Befikre raked in decent collections on its first Saturday and Sunday, bagging a nett of Rs34.36 crore in its opening weekend . The Yash Raj Film, which opened with Rs10.36 crore on Friday, bagged Rs11.60 crore and Rs12.40 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Confirming this, Rohan Malhotra, associate vice-president and head of distribution at YRF, tweeted:
#Befikre (2100 Screens)
— Rohan Malhotra (@rohan_m01) December 12, 2016
Day 1 - â¹ 10.36 Cr.
Day 2 - â¹ 11.60 Cr. (+12%)
Day 3 - â¹ 12.40 Cr. (+7%)
Total - â¹ 34.36 Cr.
These numbers aren’t bad, but after a decent opening, YRF would have hoped for the film to have raked in more numbers on the holiday weekend. What hasn’t helped the film’s cause is the largely negative reviews. Producers will hope to cash in on the first Monday being a holiday for Milad-un-Nabi.
Meanwhile, despite its international setting and appeal, the Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor-starrer romantic drama has not been received well on foreign shores. It is said to have collected around USD $2 million (Rs13.5 crore approximately) overseas, as reported by BoxOfficeIndia.com. Befikre had got 800 screens across the international market.
In terms of the top yearly worldwide grossers, the opening weekend collection of the Aditya Chopra-directed and produced film lags behind films like Dishoom and Baaghi in collections this year. Both Dishoom and Baaghi had grabbed over Rs64 crore in their opening weekend.
