Guinean vocalist Mori Kante's 1988 hit track 'Tama Tama' had become the source of inspiration for Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Bappi Lahiri to compose their 'Jumma Chumma' and 'Tamma Tamma Loge' tracks for Hum (1991) and Thanedaar (1990), respectively.
While the duo of Laxmikant-Pyarelal only lifted the tune and tweaked the lyrics, Bappi Lahiri used 'Tamma Tamma Loge' as the title of his track and retained most of the core of Mori Kante's orginal.
Now, 26 years later, Karan Johar's team will be reprising the 'Tamma Tamma Loge' track for his upcoming production Badrinath Ki Dulhania.
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, the film’s lead pair, tweeted about this, saying some songs will never die.
