When Rajinikanth danced to Mohenjo Daro

Have a look at Thalaiva's tryst with Mohenjo Daro.

Ashutosh Gowariker’s Mohenjo Daro has been in the news because there hasn’t been a film made on this subject. In fact, people would agree that even the words ‘Mohenjo Daro’ haven’t been uttered ever in Hindi cinema.

But, wait a minute! Let's not underestimate the greatness of superstar Rajinikanth. His fans believe nothing is impossible for him, which is evident from the huge number of jokes that have been making the rounds in last few years. And it seems they are quite right even when it comes to Rajini’s connection with Mohenjo Daro.

One of the famous jokes on the southern superstar is that when Graham Bell invented the telephone, he got a call from Rajinikanth. Likewise, even in the case of Mohenjo Daro, Ashutosh Gowariker doesn’t seem to be the first person to explore the topic.

Now, coming to the point, Rajinikanth sang a song with the words ‘Mohenjo Daro’ on screen once. Sounds impossible, right? But impossible is possible with Thalaiva around. ‘Mohenjo Daro’ formed a part of the lyrics of a song of the Hindi version of Endhiran aka Robot. The song sees him doing some wild dance moves with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The legendary lyrics of the song go like – Kilimanjaro Ladki Parvat Ki Yaaro, Iska Roop Nihaaro Yaaro Yaaro, Mohenjo Daro Isko Dil Mein Utaro, Jungle Jungle Pukaro Yaaro Yaaro. For your information, the lyricist over here is Swanand Kirkire. Yes, the same person who gave us gems like ‘Navrai Majhi,’ ‘Ala Barfi,’ ‘Shubhaarambh’ among others.

Whether or not Mohenjo Daro will set the box-office on fire will be known only on 12 August. For the time being, let’s add another entry to the long list of Rajinikant jokes -  when Rajini sings a song about a place, a films gets made on it!
