They say a child is god's gift. The team of Veere Di Wedding certainly agrees. When the news of Kareena Kapoor Khan's pregnancy broke, a number of media reports speculated that Kareena's character in Rhea Kapoor's debut production, Veere Di Wedding, will be changed to accomodate her pregnancy. Not according to Sonam Kapoor.

Sonam Kapoor, who will be starring alongside Kareena in the film, said, "No no, we didn't accommodate her pregnancy into the plot. It was there all along in the script. And if Kareena had not gotten pregnant we would have had to use prosthetics for her character to look pregnant. So in many ways her pregnancy is God-sent for our film."

Veere Di Wedding is directed by Shashanka Ghosh, and stars Kareena, Sonam, newcomer Shikha Tilsania and Swara Bhaskar. Sonam also called herself "lucky" to be working with three diverse and outstanding actresses. "I bonded with Swara during Raanjhana (2013). She is my friend and sister. We also have the very talented Tiku Talsaniaji’s talented daughter Shikha."

As for Kareena, the actress has clearly denied any rumours of opting out of her professional commitments. She is expecting her first child with Saif Ali Khan in December.

Veere Di Wedding is scheduled for a release next year.
