The first trailer of Ajay Devgn’s much-waited Shivaay, where he dons the roles of actor and director, is out.
The trailer focuses mainly on Devgn’s character struggling to save or rescue his daughter (Abigail Eames) by going through various frightening obstacles. Although there isn’t anything else happening, it doesn’t bother you because of the thrilling joyride it takes you on.
To say that the action sequences in Shivaay look exciting will be an understatement. It appears as if the film might redefine action in Hindi cinema. The stunts are well choregraphed and special effects are on point. The trailer is full of edge-of-the-seat moments. The scene where Devgn jumps into a moving car, and at the end when he tries to get out of a bus that is falling into the river are moments that stand out. There is also an undertone of the teachings and greatness of Lord Shiva (hence the title), which also add to the promise.
But its just one action sequence after another, and for a trailer that is over three minutes long it is surely over-exposure. Let’s hope there is much more in the final print since as of now it doesn't really give us a glimpse into the characters.
Interestingly, the antagonist of this tale is still a mystery.
Produced by Ajay Devgn and Jayantilal Gada, Shivaay also stars Erika Kaar, Girish Karnad and Saurabh Shukla. The film is all set to release on Diwali on 28 October 2016.
