She has been running helter-skelter promoting her action thriller Akira, but Sonakshi Sinha has also been keeping a keen eye on her next, Noor. The Akira actress took to social media to announce the date for Noor, which is set for a 7 April 2017 release.
Unheralded director Sunhil Sippy will helm only his second film since Snip! (2000), which went largely unnoticed. Noor is based on the 2014 comedy crime-thriller novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me, by journalist-writer Saba Imtiaz.
The novel centres on 20-year-old reporter Ayesha Khan, living in Karachi, and her misadventures and how she finds a nice lover. For the film, the makers have named the character Noor. The film will depict Noor’s romantic stories and misadventures during her trip to Mumbai.
Noor marks the second successive solo lead for Sinha following AR Murugadoss’s action thriller Akira, which is scheduled to be released on 2 September 2016.
