Katrina Kaif keeps mum on break-up with Ranbir Kapoor

Katrina Kaif has opened up on a whole lot of personal and professional issues that have been plaguing her for a while. Principal among them is the much publicised break-up with Ranbir Kapoor.

Kaif, who is currently promoting her upcoming flick Baar Baar Dekho, spoke to a daily and made some intriguing disclosures. 

Kaif ended her six-year relationship with Ranbir Kapoor earlier this year. Kapoor had recently spoken to a noted TV journalist where he openly spoke about the break-up and what Katrina Kaif meant to him. Kapoor had largely blamed a series of rumours and misunderstandings for their break-up.

Unlike Kapoor, Kaif hasn’t bared it all, but she did make some reference to her failed relationship in the context of the failure of Phantom (2015) and Fitoor (2016). Kaif took the blame on herself saying she couldn’t give her all to the films as she was "distracted".

"I feel, in both those films, my concentration was not 100 per cent. My priorities were slightly different at that point in time. I guess I was in a very relaxed space. My focus was not 1,000 per cent like it should have been on a film set. That was also an important lesson for me to learn. If a person takes things for granted or takes it easy, it will always show and the film will obviously suffer. I know I could have done better. Not that I didn’t try, I did. Especially in Fitoor, we all tried a lot. But maybe, I could have tried harder and could have given more,” she said.

Kaif, who will be seen with ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Jagga Jasoos next year, also slammed reports that said she had had an emotional outburst on the sets of the film. Kaif also allayed fears that she will not be promoting Jagga Jasoos. 

“All this does not matter. There are so many people on the sets, too many things happening, so for me, it is just about completing a professional commitment,” she said.

Ranbir Kapoor may have bared his heart to a Rajeev Masand but Kaif is still not ready to speak much on the break-up. All she had to say was, “In a relationship there are two people involved and they alone know what happened, so it is not right for one of them to say anything. I believe in god and he knows what is right and what is wrong.”
