Baar Baar Dekho trailer is worth watching baar baar

Over the past week, there has been much anticipation about the first trailer of Baar Baar Dekho, starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra. The ‘Kala Chashma’ song added to this anticipation. Now, after watching the trailer, which has just been released, it won’t be an overstatement that it’s worth watching baar baar.

With Dharma Productions associated with the film, a lot of grand Punjabi wedding scenes were expected. And this is exactly what we see in the initial moments of the trailer. But just when you think this is another big-budget romantic comedy revolving around a shaadi, the subject of time takes you by surprise.

This amuses you for two reasons. First, there have hardly been any films revolving around time in Hindi cinema. Plus, this doesn’t seem like the usual time-travel story. The protagonist is able to see the future. So he acts in the present to stop his future from getting murky. The viewer is asked a wise question in the end, which is apt in today’s fast-paced urban life.

Along with Dharma, the film is co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and directed by debutant Nitya Mehra. Baar Baar Dekho is scheduled to release on 9 September 2016.
