The low collection on the first day of Happy Bhag Jayegi was a cause for concern for its producers and filmmakers. However, over the span of the week, the film has picked up its pace. Mudassar Aziz's film has managed to rake in Rs17.50 crore over the week, and is expected to collect more.
The positive sign for the film was its increased collections on Wednesday and Thursday. The Janmashtami holiday factor ensured that the film had a decent total stacked up. Since the holiday is a major one in North India, the film showed better collections in the Delhi NCR region than those in Mumbai.
The first week collections of the film are not too high on the scale. It ranks 21st on what films have managed this year. The list includes
Sanam Re - Rs19.48 crore
Sarbjit - Rs18.95 crore
Rocky Handsome - Rs18.59 crore
Considering the fact that Sarbjit is the only film on the list that managed a decent collection of Rs26.59 crore, it is an achievable target for Happy Bhag Jayegi. However, that depends on its performance this weekend.
