After his directorial success with Ghayal Once Again, Sunny Deol is planning to take up the megaphone once again. The Gadar actor is planning furiously for his son, Karan's debut as an actor. The actor is also planning to direct the film to ensure a smooth launch for his son.

In fact, Deol wished to recreate his own debut for his son. The actor had made his debut with Rahul Rawail's Betaab, alongside Amrita Singh. Betaab proved to be a smashing hit and established Deol and Singh as the stars of a new generation. It also marked the beginning of Deol's turn as the new 'angry young man' in Hindi cinema.

Reports suggest that Deol approached Amrita Singh to cast her daughter, Sara opposite Karan in the film. A source said, "The idea was to recreate the Betaab magic. Sunny even called up Amrita and told her he would like to cast Sara opposite Karan. However, it was not meant to be. Amrita had to turn down the offer as by then, Sara was already under contract with Dharma Productions — she will be making her debut in a film produced by Karan Johar."

Karan's connection with his father's debut film goes further. The young man is a product of Rawail's film institute. It looks like Karan is destined to follow in his dad's big footsteps.
