Aamir Khan excited about Rajkumar Hirani's idea for 3 Idiots sequel

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan make a great pair. Having worked together for two of the biggest films in Hindi cinema, 3 Idiots (2009) and PK (2014), the actor director duo seem to be collaborating again.

At a recent event, the director was asked if he would like to work with Khan again. Hirani responded by saying, "Aamir is always a complete joy to work with. He is one of those rare persons who gets completely involved in the film. So, I would love to work with him." 

In fact, Hirani went further by saying the two had a 'great idea' for a sequel for the hit, 3 Idiots. The filmmaker said, "In fact, in between, we have a great idea for 3 Idiots 2. It’s still very sketchy, but out of excitement, Abhijat and I bounced the idea to Aamir, and he is also very keen to do it someday. If that happens, then we would love to work together." 

This is not the only sequel expected in Hirani's kitty. The director is also speculated to be working on the third installment of the Munnabhai series with Sanjay Dutt. However, no announcement has been made on that front. However, the director is not too keen on sequels for every hit film he has made. On being asked why he is not planning for a sequel to another hit Aamir Khan-starrer, PK, he said, "After the amount of bashing we got for it, we would rather be careful with PK. Munnabhai, of course, will have a sequel. We want to make one for 3 Idiots. Let PK be for a while, unless we can use the alien to do something else." 

The director is expected to start work on Sanjay Dutt's biopic with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead in September.
