After the launch of the record-breaking trailer for Sushant Singh Rajput's much-awaited biopic on India's limited overs cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the producers have finally released the first song of the film.
'Besabriyaan', sung by Armaan Malik, has all the ingredients for a hit. The song is right on the inspirational brief of the film, and manages to induce goosebumps on the first hearing itself.
The song is featured on Rajput's relentless Dhoni struggling to manage his life as a student and his passion for cricket.
Born in small-town Ranchi in undivided Bihar, Dhoni struggled for several years to pursue his passion. He even chose to work as a ticket examiner at a railway station to offer a sense of security to his parents, without forgoing his dream of playing cricket professionally.
The song reflects on the importance of this passion and the necessity of dreams.
Amaal Malik's music has the right balance of melody and tempo. Armaan Malik manages to evoke the crucial sense of passion without sounding forceful. The magic of the lyrics is heightened by the picturisation of Dhoni's relentless pursuit of his dream across different towns.
The film's trailer took the internet by storm and has raked in a whopping 16 million views till date. From the looks of it, the makers have got the perfect pitch to play their film on.
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Arun Pandey and Fox Star Studios. The film is scheduled for release on 30 September.
