On Dil Se’s 18th anniversary, SRK apologised to Preity Zinta. Here’s why...

The actor posted a video reciting his favourite dialogue from the film.

Mani Rathnam’s Dil Se didn’t work at the box-office when it released in 1998. But, the film is still remembered for AR Rahman’s soulful melodies and how the filmmaker tackled an offbeat subject with mainstream actors — Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Preity Zinta — who made her debut. The movie was also well-appreciated at international film festivals.

It completed 18 years of release yesterday (21 August). To pay tribute to the film, Shah Rukh posted a video on his Instagram page where he is seen reciting his favourite dialogue from the movie and thanking the audience for the appreciation.

However, he soon realised that he forgot to mention and tag his co-star Zinta. So, he posted the same video again with an apology to the actress. He captioned the video, “Sorry @realpreityzinta. With corrected credits. Thanks.”

Dil Se was produced by Rathnam, Ram Gopal Varma, Shekhar Kapur and Bharat Shah. The film is about a radio journalist (Khan) who falls madly for a girl (Koirala) who happens to be a terrorist. Zinta played his fiancee. Not many people would be aware that Tigmanshu Dhulia was one of the writers of the film.
