The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) stated to the Bombay High Court that it has ruled our murder as a cause of death of actor Jiah Khan. The team told the bench, “The CBI has no reason to protect the accused (actor Sooraj Pancholi) in the case.” She deceased had allegedly committed suicide in 2013.
Rabia Khan, mother of Jiah, had earlier raised doubts over the investigation carried out by the police and the CBI as she feels her daughter was murdered by boyfriend and actor, Sooraj Pancholi. She had held the theory that someone must have entered Jiah’s room from the window and had raised questions on the distance of the fan from the floor. She had also suggested the case to be transferred to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
But the CBI, during yesterday’s hearing, stated that as per their investigations, the case of Jiah’s death was suicide by hanging and there isn’t any substantial evidence that points to someone’s entry to her room. The team also stated that the marks found on the late actor’s neck could be her dupatta.
The HC has now asked Rabia to submit a list of anomalies she found in the entire probe on 23 August.
