Gone are the days when the original cast was repeated for a sequel. Subhash Kapoor couldn't retain Arshad Warsi for Jolly LLB 2, Akshay Kumar wasn't approached for Aankhen 2, Sonakshi Sinha is reportedly not doing Dabangg 3, and now one can add Shraddha Kapoor's name to this list.
Shakti Kapoor's daughter has been on a high since her Aashiqui 2 days and bagged a few more plum projects. She starred alongside Tiger Shroff in the 2016 hit flick Baaghi: A rebel for love. The action thriller that was made on a tight budget of Rs35 crore, went to gross Rs127 crore worldwide. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala had earlier disclosed how he would turn Baaghi into a franchise by launching a second film next year.
While Shroff has been retained, Nadiadwala chose to replace Shraddha with Amy Jackson. Interestingly, Jackson was quoted as saying that she was offered Baaghi first, but she couldn't take up the project as she had committed to Singh is Bling. Now Jackson has two projects in her hand — a Tamil flick and a Hindi project for which she will start shooting in early January 2017.
We tried contacting Shraddha, but she did not revert to our text. Jackson has been struggling to make a mark in Hindi films and will be seen in Salman Khan production Freaky Ali this September.
