Often cast in intense roles, Irrfan Khan displayed his romantic side in last year's highly-successful film Piku, where he was paired with Deepika Padukone. Khan will be seen in another romantic film that will be helmed by Sangharsh (1999) director Tanuja Chandra.
As per a report in a tabloid, Khan gave his nod for Chandra's film the moment he heard the script. The untitled project is a love story between two unusual characters who bump into each other during a road trip. The film will be shot in India from November this year.
During the promotions of Piku, Khan had lamented how he never got to play the archetypal India romantic hero. Surprisingly, despite being widely acclaimed for his role, Khan was left disappointed with his co-stars bagging various awards, while he got none. Meanwhile, Chandra has been struggling since helming the 1999 hit film Sangharsh.
