If all goes according to plan, Katrina Kaif and Fawad Khan will soon be coming aboard the next co-production between Karan Johar and Fox Star Studio. Khan and Kaif might be starring in writer-lyricist’s Aditya Dhar’s directorial debut. Dhar had previously written the dialogues for Aakrosh (2010) and Tezz (2012) starring Ajay Devgn.

This would be the first time Katrina and Fawad would be seen together onscreen. The film seems to be typical Dharma fare, set in North India, and amidst a big fat Punjabi wedding. Kaif’s upcoming Baar Baar Dekho, with co-star Sidharth Malhotra, also features key scenes involving a wedding.

Fawad Khan is known to be choosy with his films roles so one hopes there’s more to this latest film than just a wedding backdrop. Dharma’s Shaandaar (2015), labelled ‘India’s first destination wedding film’, with Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, was a big disappointment for both the studio and the fans.

As reported in Mumbai Mirror, the 2017 release is said to revolve around ‘quirky, onscreen Punjabi families and will be a celebration of North Indian culture and revelry’. There is no official confirmation about the film from either Dharma Productions or Fox Star Studio as yet.
