Who's the girl stealing Raveena's ‘Tip Tip’ thunder?

Akshay Kumar is popular with fans, but never before did we realise that he had so many fans in the film industry too. After Ranveer Singh and Salman Khan, GenNext queen Alia Bhatt has emerged as a fan of the Khiladi star. And it’s safe to assume this fanfare moment stands out from the earlier ones.

It all started with a picture of a mysterious yellow-saree-clad woman showing her back a la Raveena Tandon in the hit song 'Tip Tip' from Mohra (1994). Soon this image started circulating on social media, with many wondering who the woman impersonating Tandon was.

The cat was soon out of the bag as the woman in question was revealed to be Alia Bhatt. The Udta Punjab actress dressed up in a yellow saree and blouse, wearing a Rustom-type hat (didn’t Tandon don a similar hat in a popular song with Akshay Kumar in the 1990s?) and breaks into the iconic dance number 'Tip Tip Barsa Paani'.

Bhatt tweeted this video.

Bhatt banks on her now famous sense of humour to make this a fun watch. In the end, she urges fans to stop looking at her and go watch Tandon's one-time lover Kumar's Rustom, which releases tomorrow.

The video clocked over 2,000 views in under an hour of being uploaded on Twitter.

Akshay Kumar was quick to thank the young actress.

Bhatt has been among the group of stars who have thrown their weight behind Akshay Kumar in his box-office clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro.

From Ranveer Singh to Salman Khan to Fawad Khan, here is a recapitulation of the show of support for Kumar and his film Rustom.
