Vijayta Pandit, who made her acting debut in 1981 with Rahul Rawail's Love Story opposite Kumar Gaurav, was declared a star after the film became a hit. The actor went on star in successful films like Mohabbat with Anil Kapoor and the Bangla film Amar Sangi with Prosenjeet Chatterjee. She quit the screen in 1990 in order to focus on her personal life.
Sadly, Pandit lost her husband, the composer Aadesh Shrivastav, to cancer earlier this year. She now intends to revive her acting career. Speaking to reporters, Pandit admits that 25 years away from the camera is a long time. She says she rejected many offers over the years, and now intends to return by doing television serials.
