Ranbir Kapoor managed to hit it out of the park with Barfi! The film did well, making producers and distributors happy. He hopes to replicate that kind of success with Tamasha, even though industry insiders believe the tone of the latest film is dramatically different.
Apparently, the makers are aware of how different the film is, which has prompted them to market it differently. The emphasis is reportedly on allowing the film to find its own growth with audiences, instead of thrusting it upon them.
Those who are familiar with the final cut say there is much to recommend the film. The execution is classy, the director Imtiaz Ali and producer Sajid Nadiadwalla are confident, and Ranbir and Deepika are both content with the way all of this is being marketed.
We'll know if those expectations pay off soon enough.
