The release of Nirbhaya's 'juvenile' rapist, who is being let out after three years of confinement, has troubled the nation's conscience. Farhan Akhtar is one of few faces from Bollywood to come out in protest against the court's decision.
Speaking to reporters, Farhan asked, "Is the so-called juvenile really reformed? Keeping in mind that such is the law of the land, which in my humble opinion, requires a re-evaluation itself, there should be a series of psycho-analytical tests done on the man by leading experts in the field to understand if he is in fact reformed."
The actor suggests that, if the juvenile fails the tests, there ought to be a re-trial: "If the tests to prove his reformation prove inconclusive, he should be tried again in a court of law as an adult."
