Apparently, according to some trade reports, the satellite rights of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani have been sold for Rs. 50 crore. An industry source claims the rights have been sold to a leading entertainment channel that believes the film will have a great response at its screening as well as after.
If this information is true, it marks one of the biggest deals in the history of Indian cinema and satellite tie ups.
The Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra-starrer has a lot riding on it, but trade experts believe that the success of Bahubali, in theatres and after, shows that historical flicks with a war backdrop attract large numbers.
