Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, to be released on 25 January 2023; see video

Hindi cinema’s worst kept secret is finally official as Shah Rukh Khan announced his next film after Zero (2018). Pathaan, starring Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone, will be released next year on 25 January in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, the action thriller produced by Yash Raj Films has been under production since 2020.

Khan shared a new announcement video that revealed his mysterious character Pathaan who devotes himself to his country. The teaser also shows his co-stars John and Padukone also teasing hints about the man with no name and religion.

Said to revolve around a spy, Pathaan marks the first time Khan and John will be sharing the screen together. The actor and Padukone have previously starred together in Om Shanti Om (2007) and Happy New Year (2014).

While Pathaan nabs the 2023 Republic Day weekend, it will go up against another film directed by Siddharth Anand. The makers of Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan, Padukone and Anil Kapoor, have already announced that they will be releasing their film on this weekend last August. One of the films will have to choose another lucrative weekend for release.
