After the success of the Hindi version of the Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa: The Rise, the makers of his earlier hit Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo (2020) are set to release its Hindi dubbed version on Republic Day (26 January).
The news and the poster announcing the release were shared by veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter.
Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo also stars Pooja Hegde, Tabu and Jayaram. The film had become an instant hit and was among the top grossers in Telugu in 2020. The original Telugu version is now available on Netflix.
The film's story revolves around Bantu (Arjun) who is always scorned by his father. One day, he realizes that he was exchanged at birth and this changes his life.
Interestingly, last year, Kartik Aaryan started shooting for Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada. Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, there have been reports about the film being the official Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapuramuloo. If that is indeed true, it remains to be seen if the Hindi dubbed version of the film will hurt the prospects of Shehzada, which is slated for release on 4 November 2022.
The Hindi version of Pushpa had collected an impressive Rs85.55 crore nett till Friday 14 January.
