Aamir Khan’s keenly awaited Laal Singh Chaddha has been postponed yet again as the makers need more time to complete the film.

The film, directed by Advait Chandan, is now scheduled to be released in theatres on 11 August. It was earlier slated for release on 14 April.

Om Raut’s Prabhas-starrer Adipurush was earlier slated for release on 11 August. That film has been postponed now after the makers of Laal Singh Chaddha made a request. The new release date for Adipurush has not been decided yet.

In a statement, Aamir Khan Productions said, “This is to announce that our film, Laal Singh Chaddha, will not be releasing on 14 April as planned. This is because we are unable to complete the film in time. The film will now be releasing on 11 Aug 2022 in theatres worldwide.”

The production house thanked the team of Adipurush for agreeing to move from 11 August. “We would like to thank Mr Bhushan Kumar, T Series and Om Raut and the entire team of Adipurush from the bottom of our hearts. We would like to thank them for being so helpful and understanding, and for shifting the release date of their much awaited Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, so that Laal Singh Chaddha can come on 11 Aug 2022,” it further said.

Meanwhile, the makers of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey have announced that their film will now take up the 14 April slot vacated by Laal Singh Chaddha. Jersey was earlier scheduled for release on 31 December 2021 but had to be postponed when theatres in Delhi were shut down by the state government on account of rising COVID-19 cases.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Jersey is the official Hindi remake of the filmmaker's own Telugu hit of the same name released in 2019. Produced by Dil Raju, S Naga Vamsi and Aman Gill, the film is being distributed by Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Movies.
