Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Athiya Shetty are set to become the latest unlikely pairing of Hindi cinema in the upcoming film Motichoor Chaknachoor. The film, a wedding comedy, will be directed by the first-time director Debamitra Hassan, and will be set in Lucknow.

According to Mumbai Mirror, a tabloid, the film is set to go on the floors in September this year.

In a quote to the newspaper, producer Rajesh Bhatia described the film, saying, "Humorous story of an unlikely couple. There is a lot of situational comedy that plays out between the bride and the groom’s families and Nawaz playing the hero makes it all the more exciting."

Reportedly, Hassan has been working on the script for three years.

The film also marks the first time the two artistes will be seen on-screen together. Athiya, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, made her debut opposite Sooraj Pancholi in Hero (2015). She was recently seen alongside Arjun Kapoor in Mubarakan (2017). The actress will be playing a small town girl in the film and will undergo diction training in order to get into the skin of her character.
